Speak out on the PArent Protection act—HB 901

Family and work patterns have changed dramatically in recent decades, yet workplace policies have not kept pace.  Today’s families are supported by two employed parents or by a single mother employed outside the home. Flexible family leave policies offer working family members a way to take care of family responsibilities without risking their jobs. These family leave policies increase employers’ ability to recruit and retain the best employees, improve productivity and morale and decrease turnover and absenteeism. A proposal in the 2007 General Assembly will provide up to 24 hours unpaid, job-protected leave per year to attend school conferences or for the employee’s own medical appointments, or to take a child, parent or spouse to medical appointments, such as checkups or immunizations

Click here to learn more about HB– 901 .  Then, download this sample letter and send it to your legislators.  You can find out who your legislators are here!
